Baby stuff and Birthdays

Danny was put on day shifts starting this week, so he had Monday off and now that he's sleeping on a regular schedule we were able to go out and have some fun! We decided to be adventurous and travel the half hour to Ikea! Before we moved, we had found a crib we liked at Ikea in Utah, so we went to see if they had it there. They didn't quite have the one we loved, but they had something similar. It's a crib that turns into a toddler bed. We ended up buying the crib, mattress, end table. 6 plastic cups and 3 candles all for 100 Euros!! Which roughly equals $120 which is $10 less than what we'd pay for the crib alone in Utah! Granted we didn't have to pay taxes because we're in the millitary. But I still feel really happy with our accomplishment!

Then Wednesday was Danny's 25th birthday! We are finally the same age for another 7 months lol! We had a lot of fun. I had to babysit that day, so we took the kid I babysit and the dogs to a nearby castle thats only 15 minutes from our house. I am quite disappointed I forgot my camera. But the dogs and kid had a lot of fun! They all took a really long nap once we got back. Then for lunch we went to a local German food place on base that Danny really loves.
After that we came home and cleaned the house and started dinner. We had friends over to help us celebrate and eat cake! It was a really good birthday for him!

Then Thursday we had a doctor's appt. Nothing too much to report. We did have a bit of a scare, because for some reason my blood pressure was coming back abnormally high. Like 150/100. And no matter how many times I kept re-doing it, it kept coming back the same. Well then another guy in our class told me I had the cuff on backwards. After that it came back normal at 100/58. Baby's healthy, had a heartbeat of 146 and I finally gained 2 lbs! No more stressing from my doctor!
After our appt, we had to hurry home because Danny had to hurry home because he was taking his test for his on the job training qualifications. He passed with a 91! Which means because he got a 91 he gets a free day pass to use whenever he wants! And it's also gonna look really good on his resume because from start to finish on his training it was just shy under 2 months! Most guys take 6 months to complete it! I am sooo proud of him!

So all in all it's been a busy but very fun week.

  1. I'm so excited for you! I've seen some footage of Germany maternity wards and they look freak'n awesome!!! They have everything you could possibly want for any kind of birth you want. At least that's how it looked. Congrats to you and Danny!
