One Year down and so many more to come!

So on August 7th Danny and I celebrated a huge milestone! It was our First Anniversary. It started off really great. We woke up and hurried and finished packing up all his stuff. He's coming home for good this week! And then we stopped for a very romantic breakfast at McDonalds lol. We went to Yellowstone and I was able to see Old Faithful for the first time! We were originally planning to go through the West Entrance of Yellowstone and head on down to Idaho falls that way. But at the last minute we decided to take the more scenic route even if it did add an hour to our travel. We went through the South Entrance and drive pass the Grand Tetons and through Jackson Hole. Well when we were about 30 minutes outside of Jackson all of a sudden my car just died. It was acting like we were out of gas. Well we were very fortunate to be able to have cell service and we called Danny's parents who had happened to be in Star Valley for their anniversary which is about an hour away from Jackson Hole. We were able to arrange for a tow truck to come and pick us up but it took them almost 2 hours to come. While we were waiting a guy pulled over to see if he could help us and after a couple of minutes he told us that we were getting gast to the engine so it was more than likely an electrical problem telling my car that we didn't have gas. So at that point Danny and I just decided to make the best of it. We played Yahtzee while we waited. And I got a Yahtzee in the first turn! That made my day! We managed to get into Jackson around 8:00 and Danny's parents had found us a hotel room!! THANKS MOM AND DAD! At that point Danny and I were physically and emotionally exhausted. So we took a quick shower and ordered Pizza and relaxed the rest of the night. And we made the best of the situation. I am so grateful to be married to such a wonderful man who could keep me laughing even in a time like this!
The next day turned out to be a better day. We woke up at 5:30 and drove with his parents to Yellowstone since thats where they were heading before we called. And we saw a lot of Elk and Deer and a couple Bisons. One even got withing a few feet of the car as he was crossing the street! That was really cool. As we were driving out we decided to go to Yellowstone Bear World which is in Rexburg ID and we got to see a White Elk and some deer and some other animals and then we saw a lot of bears and one walked right next to the car as we were driving that was really neat. It was so tempting to roll down the window so I could pet him, but I resisted. And then we got to go to the petting zoo part of the park and I got to feed a couple baby goats who ate right out of my hand and I bet a baby fawn (A baby Deer) I also got to pet a potbelly pig and I wanted to take him home with me but Danny wouldn't let me.
From there we decided to go to the Lava Hot springs and once we got there we realized that it was the tourist season and that there were no vacancies anywhere except for one honeymoon suite! At that point we realized we were only 3.5 hours away from home and decided to just make the trip home. We were tired and we missed our beds and our puppies!

Even though there were a lot of ups and downs this past weekend I couldn't be more pleased! We had fun and we accomplished our goal of spending time together and having fun. Two thing are for sure, this is one anniversary we will not forget! And next year we are staying home!!!
