So this weekend Danny and I drove out to Flaming Gorge and went camping with his family! It was so much fun and the dogs had a blast. I think they're still recuperating from the fun and hectic weekend. We had originally planned to leave around 8 or 9 am but Danny's meeting for work ran over... Like way over. He didn't get home til 1 and we still had to go grocery shopping and pay a couple bills before we headed out of town. Finally around 3:00 pm we were on the road! We drove up through Evanston and then stopped to pick up some last minute things that Danny's family said they needed. We got there just in time to go fishing for a little bit before dinner. I've never really gone fishing before and Danny taught me how to use a spinner. Who would've thought there was a difference between lures and such. Jack had so much fun playing in the water and exploring. And the next morning we woke up early to go fishing again and on his 2nd cast Danny caught a fish. Colton caught a fish and threw it back in the water and then a hawk flew down and snatched it up. So we kept telling Colton how lucky he was to have fed a a hawk. Later Jack kept trying to catch the hook cause he would hear it plop in the water. After fishing he slept until it was time to go to the lake. When we got to the lake Jack wasted no time in jumping in. He didn't even wait for us to take off his leash. Flash on the other hand wanted nothing to do with the water. He was ok as long as his feet were on the rock even if some water splashed up on it. But as soon as he had no foundation and had to swim he was not happy. He kept clinging on to me afraid I was gonna let go. It was really cute. I wish I would've gotten pictures but left my camera in the truck. Despite the water being cold it was actually a lot of fun as long as you just jumped in and got it over with!
And this weekend was a nice warm up for next weekend when we go camping at the Lila and Eldon Mecham family reunion! I am so excited fishing and 4-wheelers and a lot of fun games to play. Not to mention killer Dutch Oven food! And I'm really excited to see Suzy and Brett and baby Rebecca. And I can't wait for Jack to see his old family too! I know he'll be just as excited to see them.
